R. Kaminsky (American, 20th century), “Sailboats on Water”, oil on canvas, signed lower right. A mildly impressionistic serene seascape painting in subdued tones of blue and white depicting a wide river viewed from one bank with the far bank forming horizon line to center of composition with an expanse of thick green trees, the intervening waterway with scattered sailboats and one river steam boat at center left, the sky above filled with thick white clouds. Indistinguishably signed lower right, likely "R. Kaminsky" or "R. Kamensky", over an illegible word likely documenting location of scene. Label to verso of frame for Koch Galleries, Mobile, Alabama. Framed approximately 31.875" x 35". Unframed approximately 25.5" x 28.5".
Painting has been relined. Under black light examination, some areas of fluorescence to sky, likely just the original white pigment but could be in painting. Minor frame rubbing evident to each side - not distracting. No apparent tears, losses, lifting, or punctures.
