- Lot Description
Paul Christensen, first half 20th century. "At The Marina", oil on canvas, signed lower left "Paul Christensen". Loosely handled modern painting depicts a single figure at center standing amidst a marina with a dry docked boat at left, structures and sea behind and to right, and a landscape in the distance across the water, under clouded blue skies. Framed approximately 25.75" x 30", unframed approximately 21.75" x 26".
Condition
Painting has been relined. Scattered craquelure, however paint layer appears to be stable. A few minor areas with paint losses including a small chip in upper left corner. Under black light examination, in-painting throughout top, sides and bottom from rubbing on frame, a few scattered areas throughout. Some of the thicker areas with longer hairline cracks in paint. No signs of rips, tears or holes.
