Ustad Haji Muhammad Shareef (Sharif), (Pakistani, b. 1889), "Procession"-1936, watercolor on paper, signed and dated at right. Modern figural painting depicting an elaborate festive procession with male courtly figure riding on elephant with attendant holding parasol for shade overhead, six men on horseback with yellow, blue and red striped triangular flags announcing impressive figure amid walking warriors holding weapons, scene contained within blue and gilt border. Framed approximately 24" x 30.25". Sight size approximately 16.25" x 22.5". Provenance: From the Estate of Former United States Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Benjamin Oehlert, Atlanta, Georgia.
