American, first half of 20th century. Set of nine near matched sterling silver goblets, each with flared rim above body supported on a tapered shaft terminating on a circular domed foot. Each marked on bottom, four different marks comprising of one marked "STERLING"; four with M. Fred Hirsch Co. (Jersey City, New Jersey, circa 1920-1945) mark above "STERLING" and "27" for pattern number; three with lion passant above "STERLING" and pattern "044" and one with shield form maker's mark above "STERLING" and "22" for pattern beside "7 1/2" for height. Approximate height 6.6", diameter of top 3.3"; one of shorter form approximate height, diameter of top 6.3", diameter 3.3". Total weight approximately 41.21 troy ounces. Provenance: Property from the Braselton Estate, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Small surface scratches on all goblets commensurate with light use. No signs of monogram removal. No dents or dings to goblets. Small minor indentations to top of one goblet mouth. No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
