Possibly Jansen, 20th Century. Set of 8 Louis XV style side chairs with walnut base, comprising of foliate carving at sides and back and central shell and acanthus carving at shaped skirt, all raised on four cabriole legs with shell-carved knees adorned with s-scroll and foliate carving terminating in acanthus-carved scroll feet, supported by cross-frame stretcher joined by central floral medallion. The seat and back upholstered in damask fabric featuring an ivory floral pattern upon an aquamarine ground. Approximate height 42.75", width 21.25" at widest point, depth 19", seat depth 17.5", seat height, 20". Provenance: From the Estate of Sam & Florence Inman, Atlanta, Georgia.
All structurally sound. Scattered scratched & knicks to wood, primarily to feet, commensurate with age and usage. Some with slight wobble, probably from the dies on feet. Chairs have recently been recovered, with no rips, stains, or odors to fabric. Chairs are apparently unmarked (we did not remove fabric from frame).
