- Lot Description
Set of eight matching Irish Chippendale style dining chairs (two armchairs, six side chairs) with mahogany wood frames with shaped, carved, engraved and pierced backs with swan's head, scrolled foliate, floral and diaper patterned and tasseled medallion motif. Curved arms with swan's head ends, seats upholstered in fine golden fabric upholstery. Overall raised on two cabriole legs (at front) with scrolled foliate and ball and claw feet, splayed legs at back. Armchair approximate height 38.25", width (across arms) 25.5", depth 22.75", seat to floor 19.5". Side chair approximate height 38.5", width 22.75", depth 21.5", seat to floor 19.5". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Rebecca Aggrey.
Condition
Structurally sound. Scattered nicks, scratches, dings and minor imperfections commensurate with age and usage. Seats are tight and upholstery in very good condition.
