- Lot Description
Philippines, circa 1965. Set of 7 custom built mahogany & black leather covered swiveled bar chairs or stools, 6 with shaped back on four outswept square tapered legs united by a cross stretcher and mounted with a continuous brass foot rest. One matching bar stool without backrest for the bartender. Height of chairs 42.5", width19.5", seat depth 15.75", seat height 30". Bar stool height 30", diameter of seat 15.75". Provenance: These bar chairs or stools were custom designed and made in Manila, the Philippines in 1965 for Mr/Mrs. Henry C. Smith of Akron, Ohio and Hilton Head Island, S.C. to match the custom bar. The bar and chairs were brought back to the states when they returned from overseas. The chairs are entirely made of Philippine mahogany, completely original and has never been refinished.
