John Van Koert (Canadian/American 1912-1998) for Drexel Furniture Company (American, North Carolina), circa 1957. A set of six walnut and pecan wood dining chairs upholstered in vinyl comprising one armchair and five side chairs, the stiles terminating in upswept arms, the seat back upholstered in red and tan heavily textured vinyl, the trapezoidal seat with conforming upholstery, the raking back legs joined to the front legs by an upward slanted stretcher forming an elongated pierced oval, the front legs joined by a cylindrical stretcher. Armchair approximate height 34.75", width 23", depth 20.23", side chair approximate height 34", width 20.5", depth 19.5".
