Sanborn HNOS S.A. (Mexican (Mexico City), founded by Walter and Frank Sanborn 1903- ). Heavy sterling silver oblong serving dish, likely a bread tray, with C scroll and leaf tip decorated border, marked on bottom maker's mark for Sanborns with owls beside "SANBORNS MEXICO STERLING". Overall approximate height 2.5", width 12.5", depth 6". Total weight approximately 16.7 troy ounces. Provenance: Beverly Bremer Silver, Atlanta, Georgia whereby acquired by the Estate of Dr. Woody & Mrs. Honor Hobbs, Atlanta, Georgia in December of 1979. Overall good condition. There are scattered areas of tarnishing and spot corrosion with pitting. Polish residue to scrolled crevices. Minor surface scratches particularly on the bottom, commensurate with age & usage.
