Samson Ceramics (French, 1845-1969), early 20th century. A cushioned hard paste porcelain dresser box in the manner of Sevres, the sides and top edged in royal blue with a dotted and gilt border, each with a central hand painted and enameled panel depicting musical instruments amidst flowers and foliage, the edges mounted in pressed gilt bronze banding, the corners mounted with ormolu, resting on scrolled rocaille gilt bronze feet. Interior lined in cushioned silk. Marked to underside. Approximate height 5.5", width 9.5", depth 6.425".
Epoxy residue to seams, and some accretions along edges. Some tarnishing to metal. Interior is clean with some indentations. Some stains and accretions to base. No other visible signs of damage or repair.
