Russian (Late 19th/Early 20th century). Gold, silver-gilt and enamel Order of St. Stanislaus, 3rd Class of standard form with red enameled cross, central white and entwined SS at center on white ground within green accented leaved wreath, double headed Russian State eagles with crowns alternating between arms of cross. Verso with SS on white enamel ground and marks for "AK" maker's mark for Albert Konstantin Kiebel. Kiebel was a German/Russian jeweler, goldsmith and silversmith who was awarded the Imperial Warrant for the production of all Russian Orders from 1882-1905. Order also marked at top cross and on circular mount to hook. Approximate diameter 1.75".
Minor surface scratches from light handling (more apparent on back of work). Bottom arm of cross with one minor scratch on top of enamel--not particularly distracting. Oxidation to metal and slight dirt and grim surrounding recessed rim of porcelain accent on back--may benefit from professional cleaning. No other signs of damage or repairs.
