- Lot Description
Continental, 20th century. Royal Vienna style porcelain portrait plate depicting a hand painted female beauty at bust length with blue eyes and curled dark hair adorned with pink and multicolored flowers wearing white wrap around shoulders above pink gown against a grey background, surrounded by cobalt blue borders with gilt panels, beading, C scrolls and lattice work, signed lower right with "1656B J. Dahn.", underside with blue shield or beehive mark underglaze above scripted red text identifying scene in reading in German "Treue", roughly translated to Loyalty. Diameter approximately 9.5".
Condition
Scattered surface scratches throughout; not distracting; commensurate with material and use. Extremely minor putting/loss to larger gilt surfaces. Single abrasion to gilt rim. Two specks of discoloration to underside, likely original to piece. Wear to underside rim commensurate with shelf use.
