Rene Lalique (French, 1860-1945), circa 1928. A figural opalescent glass pendant in the form of a monkey's face mounted to a gilt metal backing with dangling gilt ball at bottom and suspended from a gilt triangle on a braided black leather strand. Marked to backside "R. Lalique Paris Argent Massif". Pendant approximate height 3.125", width 2.25", depth 1". Note: these monkey masks are also present on the Madagascar Bowl created by Rene Lalique in 1928.
Overall in very good condition. Loss to gilt on mount. Some minor loss of finish to glass, but no apparent chips, cracks, or losses.
