English, first quarter 19th century. A very fine Regency period mahogany dining table in three sections, the rectangular table with rounded ends and reeded edge raised on ring turned and baluster supports, each issuing four downswept legs terminating in gilt bronze scrolled caps and casters, accompanied with two additional leaves. Approximate height 27.75", width 87.5" (without leaves), total width 132.5"(with both leaves), depth 52.12". Each additional leaf measures 22.5" Provenance: Walker McIntyre Antiques, Atlanta, Georgia, whereby acquired by the present owner.
Structurally sound and overall good condition. There are minor scuffs and scratches to top as would be expected with age and usage. Minor chipping to reeded edge. Shrinkage and worming to underside. Tight shrinkage crack to middle section top from edge extending approximately 30.5" across. Minor oxidation to gilt bronze caps. Legs with scattered nicks and chips commensurate with age.
