English, 19th century. Rare matched pair of English Chippendale style mahogany and parcel gilt decorated console tables, in the manner of Giles Grendey (1693-1780), both with rectangular top and lobed corners over a concave serpentine frieze with conforming deep apron carved with continuous Vitruvian scroll in gilt centered above acanthus and bellflower foliage on front large scroll carved acanthus decorated cabriole legs terminating on hairy lion's paw feet with hairy hocks, the back block legs with fluting. Height 32.25", width 48", depth 19".
