- Lot Description
Van Cleef & Arpels (French, founded 1896). A rare and exquisite ladies "Jour Nuit" diamond encrusted, 24 hour automatic wristwatch with 1.5" case with moving golden sun and diamond encrusted moon (with silvered stars) phase depicting the rising and setting of the sun and moon with the time, above a ribbed and textured mother of pearl roundel on dial aventurine glass accented with sapphires and marked "VAN CLEEF & ARPELS" at bottom. Diamond bezel and sided 18k white gold case joined to a diamond covered bracelet band in 18k white gold. Watch contains natural, bead set diamonds through approximately 15.10 carats total weight, color range: D-F, clarity range: VVS-VS. Marked with maker's marks and "AU750", acid tested as 18k gold quality. Back of case marked with "Van Cleef & Arpels" in script above spray of stars at left beside "No. 366" above "HH37230" and "3602129" and "swiss made". Overall weighs approximately 172 grams. Note: Luxurious watch accompanied with copy of invoice from Van Cleef & Arpels dated December 30, 2011 with matching serial numbers for watch where it sold for over $204,000.
