Chinese, Ming Dynasty, Chenghua period (1465-1487). Rare Chinese porcelain Meiping vase, with milky white glaze, the small, contracted neck and mouth above a widely swelling shoulder tapering with a gentle concave curve to a flat circular bottom, the body and neck with incised and carved design with dragon chasing the flaming pearl amidst cloud scrolls, incised Chenghua mark to the bottom. Height 8.5", diameter of mouth 2.25", diameter of base 2.8". Provenance: From the Estate of Mrs. Charlotte Topping Smith of Atlanta, Georgia.
Overall very good condition. No damage or repairs noted. Firing holes are present.
