English, 18th century (circa 1730). Period Queen Anne mahogany wood lowboy of traditional form with rectangular top above two pull out drawers with brass hardware pulls flanking escutcheons of similar form above a shaped apron above four cabriole legs terminating on pad feet. Structurally sound. Two small repairs to top of lowboy near corners. Horizontal crack running along top of case (see images 3 & 8). Scratches & few gauges to top, commensurate with age & usage. Areas of shrinkage to wood (see image 9), also commensurate with age. Beading around drawers in chipped. Exposed dovetails to back. Old paper in drawers is lifting (see image 9). Bottom of drawers have been covered with paper adhesive to prevent further shrinkage. Hardware may have been replaced.
