Attributed to Harald Schunck (German, 20th century). Finely carved lapidary animal figurine of owl composed of purple hard stone (likely sodalite) with pink tourmaline beak, with metal talon feet perched upon a detachable quartz base. Overall approximately 9.5" x 3.5" x 3.5".
Overall good condition, with dirt and grime throughout; may benefit from light professional cleaning. Purple hard stone with single, small loss to underside of right wing, not distracting. Purple hard stone with veining and texture commensurate with material. Feet with black pigment to brass surface. Quartz base with nicks and chips to edges commensurate with use and material. Quartz with apparent loss to one side, area of loss with pink hue likely from mineral exposure, loss and pigmentation likely original to stone.
