• Lot Description
  Attributed to Chrysler (American, founded 1925). A set of two rare and collectible "Roadrunner" prototype casting objects, including a prototype Plaster of Paris model of the iconic cartoon figure and a casting after the same model. Both Chrysler (American, founded 1925) and Warner Brothers (American, founded 1923)are credited with the use and spread of the "Roadrunner" character. Chrysler paid a reported $50,000 to Warner Brothers for use of the name and likeness of both their "Roadrunner" and "Wile E. Coyote" characters to promote their Plymouth Road Runner vehicles to the broader mid-market. Cast overall approximate height 15". Model overall approximate height 14.5". Note: According to the consignor, these road runners are were created at the Atlanta Foundry.
