• Lot Description
  Continental School, circa 1920. "Portrait of a Socialite", oil on canvas, signed at lower left "Pater Andreas Bosteels". Figural portrait painting depicting a woman dressed in the latest fashions of the 1920s, with waved and bobbed hair style and drop-waist gown; the woman with a bouquet of pink and white flowers resting in her arms, the background with regal column and draped red fabric, with pastoral scene in the distance. Framed approximately 40.5" x 32.625". Unframed approximately 31.5" x 23.5".
