After Jean-Antoine Houdon (French, 1741-1828), circa 20th century. A large German porcelain polychrome decorated bust depicting Marie Antoinette with flowers in her hair and ermine trimmed robes, raised on a gilt and white square pedestal, after the marble bust housed in the Louvre by Houdon. Marked to the underside in blue underglaze with the letter 'R'. Approximate height 22", width 14", square base 5.12".
Overall very good condition. No chips or cracks. Minor loss of gilt enamel. Traces of glue residue where bust is joined to marble base observed under ultraviolet light.
