French, 18th century. A petite French Provincial walnut commode have serpentine shaped top with canted corners over a conforming case having two deep drawers, each with individual locking mechanisms and decorative gilt metal escutcheon cast as a ribbon tied laurel leaf wreath, above a scroll carved serpentine squat cabriole legs. Approximate height 32.5", width 32.5", depth 21".
All original construction, locks, and hardware. Minor surface scratches. One larger scratch on top that has penetrated finish. Overall sound original condition.
