Paul Jacoulet (French, 1902-1960), "Le Mandarin aux Lunettes"-1950, color woodblock print on paper, pencil signed lower right above red artist's stamp, published in an edition of 250, titled in lower right margin and calligraphic marks lower right corner. Figural print depicting a seated man in ornate Chinese dragon court robe holding a pair of tortoiseshell eyeglasses, against a wall with floral motif accented in silver. Unframed sheet size approximately 15.9" x 12.25". Framed approximately 21.125" x 17.25".
Light toning to sheet, evidence of mat burn from previous framing. Small vertical tear at lower center running approximately 0.25". Back with two remnants of hinging tape. Fold crease running diagonally in upper right corner. Some scattered paper abrasions on back from earlier removal of hinging tape. Sheet likely cut down on all sides. Colors rich without signs of fading. No other signs of damage, loss or repair. No evidence of holes, further tears or water damage.
