Sitzendorf (German, founded 1760). Pair of two porcelain figurines comprising of a male and female in luxurious attire with peach and gilt decoration on clothing, man adorned with sword on right hip, woman holding lace fan in left hand. Sitzendorf blue double sword markings on underside of each under glaze. Woman approximately 9.5" x 4.25" x 4". Man approximately 8.25" x 4.5" x 4". Provenance: From the Estate of Sam & Florence Inman, Atlanta, Georgia.
The male figure with loss of lace to right side of neck, wrists and very minor loss at knees. End of sword is broken off but not distracting and under cape. Woman with areas of lace loss at hat, sleeves, fan and minor areas to layered dress. Both figurines retain gilt enamel with minimal loss if any. No signs of any other damage or repairs.
