French, late 19th/earlty 20th century. Pair of Old Paris parcel gilt and painted porcelain campagna urns with rlared rim above tapered body hand painted with figural scene on one side portraying lavishly dressed figures in court interiors, opposite side with rural landscape with rustic architecture beside water, urns with upturned U shaped faux bois handles with Bacchanalian facial masks, supported on shaft leading to circular foot on an integral square base. Faint incised marks on bottom, otherwise unmarked. Overall approximate height 11.3", diameter of top 7.9".
Both urns in overall very good condition. Minor scattered areas of loss of gilt and some discoloration noted primarily to socle and edges of plinth base. One urn with minor areas of roughness to interior rim. One urn with replaced screw to interior as well as underside of foot. Traces of glue residue to underside of foot on both urns near screw; reactive to ultra violet light and probably used for stability.
