Lewittes Furniture (American, 1955 - 1986), mid 20th century. A matched pair of Modernist chrome-plated steel open armchairs, having the rectangular padded back slightly angled between the padded rounded arms continuing as the legs united by a front stretcher. The padded back, elbow rests, removable back and seat cushions covered in brown cotton felt. Both chairs with paper penalty labels "Made by Lewittes Furniture Enterprises, Inc./Taylorsville, NC". Approximate height 31", width 30", seat depth 21", seat height 17.5"
Both chairs are structurally sound. Scattered sun damage with some fading particularly top back of chairs. Upholstery is worn down on armrests and there are small scattered stains. Minor scuffing, scratches and oxidation to the chrome finish.
