Pair of Late 19th century Regency style mirror image recamiers or chaise lounges with carved rosewood frame, possibly faux grained, with rolled arm and shaped back with acanthus leaf accented scrolls, front of frame with floral motif brass inlaid decoration above splayed legs with gadrooned capital and foliates terminating on ornate brass feet above wheeled casters. Recamiers with beige, white, and brown striped silk upholstery throughout form and on matching roll pillow. Approximate height 34.25", width 84.5", depth 25.75", seat to floor 16.5". Provenance: From the Estate of Mrs. Charlotte Topping Smith of Atlanta, Georgia.
Both recamiers are structurally sound. Both show slight oxidation to brass. There is minor lifting of the brass inlay. Very minor small, scattered stains to fabric. Fabric is tight to frame with no rips or tears. There is a repair to a couple of legs at the brass caps to strengthen the structure. Scattered minor nicks and scratches commensurate with age and usage.
