- Lot Description
Pair of Louis XV Style Canopied Bergeres, 'Guerites' or Sentry Canopy Chairs, also known as Porter's, Monks or Conversation Chairs, with exposed slightly ebonized frame surmounted with flowerhead cresting, having a channeled interior to the hood, the hood, back and seat and elbow rests custom upholstered in yellow damask, the backside covered in yellow crushed velvet and a loose seat cushion over a serpentine shaped apron centered with flowerheads, raised on cabriole legs terminating in scrolled toes. Height 57", width 28.75" (arm to arm), seat depth 21", seat height 19". Provenance: Former catcher with the Chicago Cubs and one of Nashville's most prolific restaurateurs.
