Henry Vian (French,1860-1905). Pair of French gilt bronze two light wall sconces with scrolled foliates and bellflowers on wall plaque with two crossed serpentine arms with fern leaf motif leading to circular wax guards with dentilated borders below candle cups with floral accents. Side of each signed "H. Vian" for Henry Vian. Overall approximate height 23.5", width (across arms) 14.75", depth 9.125".
Well cast with even patination throughout. All candle cups drilled with four small holes (likely for dangling crystals). Some areas with light pitting to bronze. One with separation split to metal at bottom--not particularly noticeable. Each with later drilled hole at top and bottom for mounting. No further sign of damage, loss or repair.
