Henredon Upholstery Collection by Henredon (American (Morganton, NC), 1945-present), late 20th century. A pair of partial gilt English Regency style armchairs, each with a rectangular crest with carved neoclassical motifs and framed by gilt molding, classical vine pattern carved seat frame and arms with upholstered padding terminating in scroll hand rests with acanthus carving, the back, arms, and seats all upholstered in conforming rosy beige velvet diamond pattern upholstery, over the seat rail carved with scrolling palmette motifs, raised on cylindrical front legs headed by paterae and raking back legs. Approximate height 39", width 27", depth 24", seat to floor 18".
Chairs are in very good condition. Wooden surfaces exhibit faux wormwood and light wear to wood finish on arms commensurate with age and use. Feet have slight wood loss and scuffing commensurate with use. One chair shows glue globule near the base of front right foot. All fabric is in very good, unstained condition with no presence of odors.
