French, first half of 19th century (circa 1824-1830). Pair of gilt bronze figural four-light candelabra with egg and dart bordered candle cups with acanthus leaf tips on ridged arms joined below swan and panther figural group; shaft of figural form--one depicting a man, the other a woman in Renaissance dress, surmounting a crowned capital on a radiating leaf tip base above an octagonal plinth base. Approximate height 21", diameter of base 5.5".
Both candelabras have some oxidation with minimal loss of gilt finish. Minor pitting. Wear is commensurate with age and usage.
