French, 20th century. Matched pair of French Louis XIII style walnut fauteuils, both with tall rectangular padded back joined by downswept arms on volute supports to the padded seat, raised on os de mouton legs joined by stretcher base. Both fauteuils covered in needlework floral upholstery with large stylized nailheads. Height 42.5", width 24" (arm to arm), seat depth 20", seat height 17".
Both fauteuils are structurally sound with no wobble or loose joints. The fabric is in very good condition with no rips, tears, stains or odors. The seat and back are tight to frame. Decorative tacks are secure.
