French, 19th century. Pair of Henri Picard (Paris, active 1831 to 1864) gilt bronze three-light candelabras in Louis XVI style with beaded candle cups above ribbed bellflower motif above beaded circular wax guards on acanthus decorated arms above baluster form shaft with ribbed, laurel wreath, leaf tip, fluted and floral swag motif, all raised on an inverted gadrooned accented scalloped circular base surmounting a beaded and laurel leaf bordered base, each stamped on bottom "H. PICARD". Approximate height 17.5", width (across arms) 12", diameter of base 5.6".
Both candelabras show oxidation to the gilding, very minor and not distracting. There is minor wear to the interior of the candlecups as would be expected from usage. Both of these candleabras appear to have been converted to electricity at one time due to apparent drill holes to the candlecups, necks, stem and base.
