Chinese, Qing Dynasty Jiaqing Period mark (1796-1820), likely 20th century. A pair of hand painted porcelain lidded urns with cobalt glazed ground decorated with red, green, and yellow four-clawed dragons on tondo surrounded by blooming chrysanthemums and peonies, the round foot with a lappet band in blue, pink, and yellow, the shoulder and neck with a floriform lappet band, the round lid with similar decoration and a fu dog handle. Marked to underside with printed Jiaqing imperial reign mark. Overall approximately 18" tall, 10.75" diameter.
One urn with significant repairs to shoulder and body detected under blacklight. One lid with repair to fu dog finial at the tail. The other urn with 2 repairs to rim, neck/shoulder detected under blacklight. Both vases with overpainting at sight of damage(s).
