Chinese, early 20th century Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). A pair of porcelain Haitangzun or Begonia-Shaped porcelain vases with allover crackle glaze to body with narrow round foot surmounted by tapering body with high shoulder, narrow neck, and flared ring rim, the whole decorated with bands of shaped cartouches each bearing a hand painted still life with lotus flowers, chrysanthemum blossoms, or other flora in planters, some with butterflies or birds, the vase neck with serpentine floral vines, and the ring mouth with a band of geometric patterning. Unmarked. Approximate height 18.125", diameter 9.25".
Porcelain allover exhibiting crazing and with some minor pitting underglaze with darkening. Bottom corner of tall rims with fleabites. One with three minor chips to underside of foot.
