- Lot Description
Pair of Art Deco bookends composed of green and black onyx of pointed stepped-back architectural skyscraper form with shell form accent on top of shaft with stylized leaf tips in silver tone metal. Recessed square space at top of each for housing object, possibly candle. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 6", width 5.2", depth 3".
Condition
Scattered surface scratches & small fleabites to edges, commensurate with age & usage. Areas of more significant chips along base (see image 6). Slight oxidation occurring to metal on front. Two veins exposed on green onyx on front (see image 1).
