American, 20th century. Pair of matching mahogany wood framed open armchairs with rectangular back with caning within guilloche motif on back and arms, trapezoidal seat with caning above elegant undecorated apron, overall supported on turned tapered legs at front, splayed legs at back. Each chair with removable light blue to green canvas fabric seat cushion. Underside of each chair impressed with "7718" likely for pattern number. Overall approximate height 34.75", width 22.5", depth 22.5", seat to floor (with seat cushion) 19".
Structurally stable. Surface scratches and abrasions throughout, commensurate with use. Fabric on both seats with some staining and discoloration, commensurate with age. One with slightly lighter finish, likely due to sun exposure.
