Continental, 20th century. Pair of vermeil animal motif salt and pepper shakers in the form of an owl, each with 800 silver with gold wash, faceted red glass eyes, chased feather covered bodies and heads that twist off to refill salt and pepper held therein. Each marked on bottom with "800". Approximate height 2.75", width 1.25", depth 1.25".
Overall in very good condition. Each with faint scratches to underside commensurate with age and general use. Some gilt loss to twisting areas commensurate with general use. Front and top of wings to both pieces with gilt losses and subtle yet visible casting marks.
