English, Circa 1824. Matched pair of Spodes New Stone covered dishes with underplates, all decorated in the Imari palette of iron red, and dark and light blue with gilt highlights, impressed, 'Spode's New Stone', and iron red pattern mark 3875. Covered dish height 5.5, width 10.8", depth 8". Underplate height 1.25", width 12.5", depth 9".
There is a .4" chip to lid and 1" hairline fractured on same lid that cannot be readily seen but felt with finger nail. The other lid has a very minute flea bite to the interior near rim. All pieces show dirt residue, possible staining to interior of bowls. There is a slight wear to cobalt banding on rim from fading. All wear is commensurate with age.
