- Lot Description
English, 19th century. Pair of similar but unmatched Royal Crown Derby porcelain urns later converted into electrified table lamps. Each urn with parcel gilt anathus leaf accented scrolled handles on sides of body with florals and arabesques in Imari color palette on white ground accented in gilt, urns raised on flared stem leading to circular foot on integral square plinth base further supported on square stacked gilt wood base. One with approximate height 25.75", width (of shade) 14.25", depth (of shade) 9.25". The other approximate height, 26.5" width (of shade) 14.25", depth (of shade) 9.5". Provenance: From the Estate of Sam & Florence Inman, Atlanta, Georgia.
Condition
Urn with pink flowers: Significant repairs to both handles with visible in-painting, wear to gilt elements from light handling, craquelure of glaze, however, stable, in-painting to corner of integral square plinth over cracked repair, scattered small in-painting to body, a few scattered glazing imperfections, and wear to gilt on base and top lamp mount. Other urn lamp: with numerous repairs to handles, light wear to gilt from light handling, scattered glazing imperfections, wear to gilt on wooden base and top of lamp of mount, repair to crack on corner of integral square plinth base with in-painting, scattered in-painting to body of urn, craquelure under glaze commensurate with age, however, stable. No other signs of damage, loss or repairs.
