Continental, 19th century. A pair of mirrored carved and gilt wood wall brackets with central figural bird, possibly a phoenix, surrounded by c scroll and acanthus leaf scrolls along with flower blossoms and an undulating ground at top with foliate motif, the whole surmounted by a trefoil plank with carved decoration band at edge. Approximately 18.75" tall, 16.5" wide at top, 9" deep at top. Provenance: From the Estate of Sam & Florence Inman, Atlanta, Georgia.
Each with a few missing tips to wings and cascading Asian rock forms. Each with numerous & significant visible cracks and earlier repairs with delicate elements. Significant wear and craquelure to top of display shelf. Oxidation to backs. Light visible dirt and grime--may benefit from light and gentle professional cleaning. Each with losses to gilt and small wood nicks particularly on edges.
