Chinese, Qing Dynasty Jiaqing Period mark (1796-1820), likely 20th century. A nearly matched pair of fish bowls of typical form with hand painted decoration on tondo to exterior body of a landscape scene filled with courtly figures in parade, animals such as elephants and horses, and mythological beasts such as Longma, the foot having a lappet band punctuated with fields of ocean waves, the neck with a band of key patterning, the interior of the bowl with koi fish amid undersea foliage. Underside with red stamped Jiaqing imperial reign mark. Approximately 17.875" tall, 21.25" diameter.
