Pierre Paulin (French, b. 1927) for Artifort (Danish, founded 1928), probably 1973. A matched pair of purple upholstered F598 sculptural club or lounge chairs - also known as the 'Groovy Chair' - each having a curved and shaped shell back with crescent shaped split below the backrest just above the seat giving the appearance of a smile, between the straight sides. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 26.5", width 30.5", seat depth 18", seat height 15".
Structurally sound. Overall very good condition. Upholstery is in good condition with no rips, tears or odors. Minor stains underside. Very minor fading of color on seat.
