- Lot Description
Continental, mid to late 19th century. A pair of his and hers Renaissance Revival ebonized wood tall back hall chairs, each with a highly pierced and scrolled splat with barley twist stiles, each with a carved crest, hers with a female face, and his with a male face and arms with spaniel handholds, each with barley twist front legs and a turned H-stretcher. Approximate height (of his) 54.25", width 26", seat deoth 20", seat to floor 19".
Condition
Both backs are somewhat loose to stiles. Armchair with split and glue repair to left barley twist stile. Also wood loss to one patera block front left leg; not structural. Both chairs with a couple small chips. Rubs to back of finials likely from contact with walls.
