Chinese, 20th century. A pair of porcelain figural fish form vases depicting carp type fish in white leaping from stylized blue and white waves as base, its white tail piercing the waves to one side opposed by a gray rock form at the fish's belly, its open mouth as the vase opening. Unmarked. Approximate height 9.75", width 9.25", depth 4.25".
One fish with crack running from top of head to mouth rim, most visible on raised lips of mouth. Crack with porcelain loss. Scattered dirt & grime throughout, would benefit from light, professional cleaning. Some scattered patina loss to rock form and eyes on each vase. Bottoms of each with slight wear, commensurate with age & shelf use. Under blacklight examination, no further signs of loss, damage, or repair.
