American, circa 1960s. Unusual and one-of-a-kind red painted steel chair, probably designed for massage or acupuncture, the sculptural and continuous frame mounted to the top of the backrest and seat with chrome caster covers and industrial springs probably to improve posture and increase blood flow. Apparently unsigned. Approximate height 24", width 20", seat depth 19", seat height 13".
Slight wear and losses to finish (see images 3 & 8). Areas of scuffs & scratches, commensurate with age and usage. All springs are present with bolts intact (some would benefit from tightening). Would highly benefit from cleaning.
