Olive Parker Black (American, 1868 - 1948), "Spring Landscape", oil on canvas, signed lower left "Olive P. Black", with indistinct graphite inscription to verso, with applied label to verso "Alanna Rathbone Fine Arts". Serene landscape painting depicting a lush valley with babbling brook extending from lower right picture plane through center of canvas, with clusters of verdant green trees, with hills indistinctly visible in the distance, with cloud dotted blue sky overhead. Framed approximately 31.125" x 41.5". Unframed approximately 20" x 30".
Painting is not re-lined. Overall with little to no craquelure. With three punctures to canvas in triangular configuration in lower center, all of which have been treated to recto with in-painting (visible under black light). The largest puncture with approximate diameter of 1.25", treated to verso with patch. The second puncture with approximate diameter of 0.5", treated to verso with patch. Stretcher lines visible at left and right of canvas recto. Under black light examination, in-painting observed at lower center edge.
