- Lot Description
Nils Hans Christiansen (Danish, 1850-1922), "Harbor View at Sunset", oil on wood panel, signed lower right with "NH Christiansen R.A.C.", verso of board inscribed "N.H. CHRISTIANSEN". Vertically aligned coastal landscape painting depicting a quiet harbor at sunset with pink to orange sky with central setting sun between two rocky cliffs on shores, fishing cottage at left, scattered sailboats in water. Framed approximately 13.5" x 10.5". Unframed approximately 9" x 6".
Condition
Overall in excellent condition. Oxidation to verso of wood board commensurate with age. Under black light examination, minor scattered in painting to sky near top of matrix - not distracting or apparent to naked eye. No apparent splitting or cracks to wood board. Hazy green hue overall to paint surface indicative of older varnish layer. No apparent paint lifting, loss, or abrasions.
