National Cash Register Company (American, founded 1884), circa 1902. A polished and lacquered bronze or red brass National Cash Register, model 8 having a Fleur-de-lis case, principal detail adders, a dolphin top sign stamped 'Drink Carbonated Coca-Cola in Bottles 5-¢' with 'Fountain Service' on the reverse. There is a white marble shelf under the keys above the single register drawer, embossed "National", on wood base. This cash register has twelve patent dates that range from May 26,1885 to June 13, 1893. The serial number is 348782. Approximate height 22.75" width 16.5", depth 15.5".
Overall very good condition. The glass that supports the top sign shows some minor flea bites on the edge from contact. Cash register does work; lacking key. Top sign is not screwed into frame. Marble top shows very faint scratches. The keys all go down when pressed and drawer opens. Two end keys have worn away function; one appears to say 'No Sale'. Chip to wood base at the very back on edge.
